From San Diego to Bellingham ... and eventually to Seoul

Greetings! I am Kimchee Katie.

After working for a couple years at a job just to pay the bills in San Diego it is time I ventured on to something more fulfilling, something that takes advantage of my love of traveling and my degree in elementary education! I am embarking on a trip of a lifetime to live and teach English in Seoul, South Korea. The Olympic Park area of Seoul specifically.

Stage one of my epic adventure 2010 began in San Diego where I have been living for the past couple years and making the BEST of friends...

Unfortunately it had to end, but on to new things.
Bye sunny SD

I will miss Mules from the Starlite:

One more time on the roller coaster at Mission Beach:

One more birthday party at the wave house:

My last passion fruit margarita at The Prado in Balboa Park:

So, mi Madre came to accompany me on my drive up the coast and we made it to my hometown of beautiful Bellingham, WA.

(I'm a sucker for sunsets)

Then came the packing!! Ahh! Only two bags?

Don't worry, I got all of my junk in those bags.
Now I am off to Seoul - more to come when I touch down on Korean soil and get myself settled. It is very surreal that all of my preparation and research is about to become a reality. I barely know any phrases in Korean but hand gestures go a long way I've learned. My accommodations for the first couple days will be a hotel until my paid-for, furnished apt is ready to go. Should be quite the adventure. I will miss all of my Bham and San Diego friends so so much and of course mi familia, but new friends are to be made!

Cheers!
